’200 YEARS YOUNG’
Young musicians from the 2024 Competition came together to perform celebrating the bicentenary of St John’s Church on Saturday 29th March with proceeds in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research. It was a wonderful evening of superb music. Congratulations to all performers.
District Round held on 9th February
Xiao Xi Hill ( Harpist) and Theo Kendrick (Singer) performed well. In the event Xiao Xi Hill was chosen to go through to the Regional Round. Congratulations to Xiao Xi and commiserations to Theo, although he can take comfort from the fact that the vocal winner of this round went to win the national final.

RIPON YOUNG MUSICIANS OF THE YEAR 2024
The 2024 Ripon Young Musicians of the Year Competition, organised by the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Ripon and Ripon Rowels respectively, was held at St. John’s Church, Sharow on 8th & 9th November . It was adjudicated by Alasdair Jamieson and the winners were :-

The European Piano Teachers Association trophy for Piano Performance was awarded to Gerard Tam ;
The Scullion Cup for Singing was awarded to Lily Sadler ;
The Founders’ Cup for The Most Promising Instrumentalist was awarded to the Violinist Hannah Wallace .
Two of the above-mentioned winners , Xiao Xi Hill ( Harpist) and Theo Kendrick (Singer) have been chosen to go forward to the Rotary District Competition.
